Prashanth has seven years of consulting and research experience in transport infrastructure, across toll roads, electric buses, intelligent mobility, development planning, road safety, maritime and public-private partnerships, including two years in mobile software.

At Steer, Prashanth primarily plays a leading role in toll road forecasting for large transaction advisory projects, apart from e-mobility, intelligent mobility and development planning. He uses his technical skills like transport modelling, analysis of large transport datasets, policy research and GIS/cartography to provide robust client-oriented solutions. He has worked with a wide variety of clients spanning sectors and geographies including leading domestic toll operators and international investors for investment-grade transactions, multilateral development banks, real-estate developers, governments in India and in the UK. He has studied more than 35 toll roads spanning across more than fourteen states in India. Other recent projects include recommendations to improve the bankability of e-bus procurement in India and a study on passenger rights for waterborne transport in the European Union.   

Before Steer, Prashanth carried out research and consulting work at IIM Ahmedabad, largely on infrastructure PPPs. Select projects include fare revision for Mumbai Metro Line 1 and a detailed study on the legal and regulatory issues surrounding the commissioning of container terminals and tariff revisions at JNPT. During his Masters at ITS Leeds, he worked on a pioneering piece of research exploring the application of political economy analysis for implementing pedestrian safety in Indian cities.
